About Utila
Utila is a small island in the Caribbean Sea, part of the Bay Islands of Honduras. The tropical gem is part of the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef, the second-largest reef system in the world. Known for its laid-back atmosphere and vibrant marine life, Utila is a paradise for divers and nature lovers alike. The island boasts crystal-clear waters, pristine beaches, and abundant marine life.
Famous for its vibrant coral reefs and ideal diving conditions, the local culture is friendly and welcoming, with a strong focus on sustainability and eco-tourism. Utila has a Caribbean pulse to it, a place that comes alive both under the sea and in the vibrant Honduran island culture.
Getting Here
Utila is easily accessible by ferry from neighboring island Roatรกn, or mainland Honduras via La Ceiba.
For getting to Utila from mainland Honduras, take an international flight into Tegucigalpa (TGU) or San Pedro Sula (SAP). From there, you can get to La Ceiba via bus, shuttle, or domestic flight and catch the ferry to Utila at 9am or 4:30pm.
For a more direct travel experience, fly into Roatรกn and take the 2pm ferry to Utila.
There are limited flights into Utila, but they are pricey and run infrequently. Pickup from the ferry is included in the retreat price, but pickup from the Utila airport is at your own expense.
